Police: Two suspects steal two women’s vehicles in one morning

ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — Roanoke Police are investigating a report of a stolen vehicle.

Police said officers responded to Valley View Boulevard Tuesday around 4 a.m where they said a 20 -year-old victim observed a person approaching her, prompting her to get back into her vehicle and lock the doors.

She told police the suspect walked up to the driver’s side of her green 2001 Ford Escape, pointed a gun at her, and told her to get out of her vehicle.

Police said she got out of the vehicle and the suspect got behind the wheel. A second suspect also got into the vehicle before they drove off toward Interstate 581.

Police were then called to Northview Drive, SW to investigate another stolen vehicle report just a few hours later.

Around 7:30 a.m. police said the suspects approached another female victim who was 61-years-old. The victim told police that while she did not see a handgun, one of the suspects held his hand in his pocket.

She told officers the suspects demanded she get out of her burgundy 2014 Honda Civic. The victim got out of her car and the suspects left in her vehicle.

The suspects are described as two males, one wearing a white Hollister sweatshirt and the other wearing a dark colored Virginia Tech hoodie.

Neither victims were hurt.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
