WACO, Texas (Oct. 11, 2017) – The Institute for Family Business at Baylor University will honor the 2017 Texas Family Business of the Year Award winners with a banquet on Nov. 3 at Baylor University’s Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 11, 2017) – Baylor University will officially inaugurate Linda A. Livingstone, Ph.D., as the 15th president in Baylor’s 172-year history during a public installation ceremony at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Ferrell Center. Dr. Livingstone’s Inauguration will highlight a week of events, including a traditional Dr Pepper Hour, a “Family Dinner” for students along Third Street near the president’s home and academic symposia on transformational research by leading University faculty.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 11, 2017) – In September, Darlene Kyser celebrated a milestone that only a few have achieved at the University: 50 years of service, in Kyser’s case, as assistant to the dean of the Baylor School of Education. At the end of this month, she will retire. “I plan to stay in touch and visit,” she says. “This has been such a special place for me; it’s been my home for 50 years.”

Waco, Texas (Oct.10, 2017) – Award-winning author Tony Castro, B.B.A.’70, will present his lecture, “The Religion of Sports: From Michelangelo to Derek Jeter,” at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at Kayser Auditorium in the Hankamer Academic Center on the Baylor University campus.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 10, 2017) — The Mayborn Museum Complex is celebrating the 20th annual Earth Science Week in collaboration with Baylor University’s department of geosciences, through Oct. 13, 2017. The museum is hosting daily activities where visitors have the opportunity to engage with Baylor geosciences professors while exploring resources and activities related to a specific focus within earth sciences.

WACO, Texas (Oct. 6, 2017) — The McGee Endowed Lecture Series at Baylor University is a three-part lecture series designed to initiate conversation about the relationship between Christianity and democracy and how Christians are to think about participating in political life. This year, it will be held in conjunction with Seventh and James Baptist Church’s Leuschner Lecture Series and the Honors Residential College’s Formation Series Lecture. Series Lecture. WACO, Texas (Oct. 5, 2017) – With October being Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Baylor University will welcome IT security leaders from IBM, Verizon, ForcePoint and Splunk for a discussion about “The New Wild West: Cybersecurity in the Age of Pervasive Technology” as part of Baylor’s first Cyber Day on Friday, Oct. 6.

The Baylor University Police Department (BUPD) is hosting National Night Out, #BUNightOut, for the Baylor residential community at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, on Fountain Mall.

WACO, Texas (Sept. 29, 2017) – Joseph Stubenrauch, Ph.D., associate professor of history at Baylor University, has won an American Society of Church History book prize for his book The Evangelical Age of Ingenuity in Industrial Britain.

WACO, Texas (Sept. 29, 2017) – Baylor University is mourning the passing of Harold E. Riley, B.B.A. ’52, a generous benefactor of numerous areas of the University, outstanding alumnus of the Hankamer School of Business, former football All-American and 2010 Baylor Legacy Award recipient. Riley died Sept. 21 at the age of 89.



Baylor Law has partnered with Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee, PLLC to offer an innovative new kind of pro bono clinic – an “Answer-a-Thon” – using the State Bar of Texas’ Texas Legal Answers website.

WACO, Texas (Sept. 28, 2017) – Baylor University today announced a gift of $2 million from Sherri W. and Robert “Bobby” L. Patton Jr. of Fort Worth that will enhance the legal writing and pro bono programs in the nationally ranked Baylor Law School. Their gift will help underwrite two programs that already distinguish Baylor Law among its peers, while also providing student scholarship assistance.
