MT VERNON — Homecoming Court and activities have been announced at Mt. Vernon Township High School.
Homecoming week activities start on Sept. 25 with the theme, “Let’s Glow Crazy.” Sept. 25 is Homecoming T-Shirt Day. Sept. 26 is Light Years Ahead Day, where freshman and sophomores dress as young children and juniors and seniors dress as elderly. Teachers and staff will dress according to the grade they teach.
Sept. 27 is Let’s Glow Crazy Day, where students will come to school in mismatched clothing. That evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. students can go Glow in the Dark Bowling at NuBowl.
On Neon Beyond Day on Sept. 28 students will wear all neon attire.
Sept. 29 is Ram Pride Homecoming Friday. School colors will be worn, and a Homecoming Pep Rally will begin at 2:30 p.m. in Changnon Gymnasium. An FFA Alumni Barbecue will be held in the cafeteria from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
That evening a bonfire will be held at 6 p.m. at the north end of Hunt Stadium, followed by the Homecoming Football Game at 7 p.m. Homecoming mums and favors will be sold, and the Student Council will be hosting a couch raffle.
The Homecoming dance themed, “Illuminate the Night,” will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 30. Coronation will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Homecoming Queen candidates are Emilee Clarke, Kenzee Dycus, Madison Goodheart, Raven Gudermuth, Hannah Heitmeyer, Isabel Heitmeyer and Christina Hodge. King candidates are Kadin Asbery, Christian Fitts, Dakota Frederick, O’Shea Hardin, Torean Moore, Chase Timmons and Zach Williams.
Clarke is the daughter of Rahn and Koletta Clarke. Her escort is Jonathan Wilson, son of Anna and Jerry Wilson. She is a senior class representative, participates in Drama Club, the National Honor Society, choir and Operetta. After graduation she plans on attending a four-year university to pursue a degree in optometry.
Dycus is the daughter of Robert and Nina Dycus. Her escort is Preston Bonne, son of Ginger Harp and Patrick Boone. She participates in symphonic band, cheerleading, competitive dance at Rachel’s Dance School and Rockin’ Rams dance team. She is also the senior class president and executive board first vice president for Student Council. She is a tumbling instructor at the YMCA and works at Savvy Boutique. After graduation she plans to go into business, majoring in marketing and advertising, with a goal of starting an online clothing boutique.
Goodheart is the daughter of Mark and Stacie Goodheart. Her escort is Grant Lisk, son of Sylvester and Jill Lisk. Her activities include volleyball, track, cheerleading and dancing at Rachel’s Dance School. She plans to attend college and pursue a career in the medical field.
Gudermuth is the daughter of Lori Roe-Ryan and Matthew Gudermuth. Her escort is Dakota Frederick, son of Amanda and Josh VanHauen. She participates in concert choir, marching band, soccer and is the Drama Club president. She plans to pursue a career in graphic design.
Hannah Heitmeyer is the daughter of Todd and Allyson Heitmeyer. Her escort is Ethan Fauss, son of Matt and Joyce Fauss. Her activities include volleyball, cheerleading and Youth and Government. After graduation she plans to attend the University of Kentucky and major in speech pathology.
Isabel Heitmeyer is the daughter of Troy and Trinda Heitmeyer. Her escort is Chase Timmons, son of Justin and Emily Timmons. She participates in Student Council, Youth and Government, swimming, and is president of Sub Debs. She plans to attend a four-year university pursuing a degree in forensic sciences.
Hodge is the daughter of Greg and Lonna Hodge. Her escort is Jake Jines, son of Kim Brown and Alex Jines. She participates in volleyball and Sub Debs. After graduation, she plans on attending college with intentions of majoring in speech pathology.

After graduation he plans to move to Nashville, Tenn., to attend a four-year university and complete his bachelor’s degree in business management.
Timmons is the son of Emily and Justin Timmons. His escort is Isabel Heitmeyer, daughter of Troy and Trinda Heitmeyer. His activities include baseball, golf and Youth and Government. After graduation he plans to go to a four year university.
Williams is the son of Don and Shawn Williams. His escort is Baylee Holloway, daughter of Jay and Jenn Holloway. His activities include golf and basketball. After graduation he plans to go to college and play golf.
